NY Foundation for the Arts sponsored project produced with the members of the Harris Garden in Harlem.
TRT: 22 minutes
Running time of excerpt: 3 minutes

In the summer of 2004 Alessandra Zeka and Holen Sabrina Kahn received a artist in residence fellowship from The New York Foundation for the Arts to produce a video documentary on the William A. Harris Garden in Harlem. The video documents the story of the community garden: how it began, how it is maintained, its relationship to the surrounding neighborhood, and its impact on the lives of the garden's members. As part of the project, we trained the diverse members of the of the garden to work with the cameras, sound, and interview process creating a video that was truly collaborative.
