Karen Cirillo is an image-maker and film programmer, specializing in short non-fiction. She is the founder of doxita, a traveling program of short non-fiction films. She was a shorts programmer for True/False Film Festival and Associate Director -Programming of the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival. She spent seven years as the global coordinator of the OneMinutesJr. initiative, leading video workshops with young people and artists around the world. She works as a digital media specialist for UNDP in Europe and Central Asia.

History of life in place
Karen was born and bred in New Jersey, although she would also consider herself a New Yorker - with both parents hailing from Staten Island and herself calling Brooklyn home for 14 years. She tempered her northeastern ways with 9 years in North Carolina. She is currently living in Istanbul, Turkey, where her off time is spent walking, eating and riding ferries
